Frequently asked questions

How is AlphaSense priced?

Pricing is quote-based. AlphaSense sells annual subscriptions ranging from enterprise-wide packages to per-seat options and publishes no list price; you contact the sales team for a quote. Two published packages exist: Market Intelligence (curated external content plus AI workflows) and Enterprise Intelligence (adds internal content search, private-cloud hosting, BYOB/BYOK and IT professional services). Expert calls and Canalyst financial models are paid add-ons.

Can AlphaSense search our firm's internal documents?

Yes, on the Enterprise Intelligence plan. Internal content can be uploaded through an API or third-party connections and searched with AI search and summarization alongside external content. Enterprise Intelligence also offers additional cloud-hosting options, permission mirroring so existing access controls carry over, and BYOK/BYOB so documents can remain in your own AWS S3 bucket.

Is AlphaSense secure and compliant enough for regulated industries?

The vendor states SOC 2 Type 2 attestation and ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification, GDPR-aligned handling of personal data, encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256), dedicated encrypted per-customer storage, and continuous monitoring with logged access. AlphaSense states it is not currently ISO/IEC 42001 certified but is pursuing certification. Reports are available through its Trust Center, subject to NDA.

Does AlphaSense train AI models on our data?

No. Vendor pages state that LLMs are never trained on customer uploaded data, that client documents, prompts and queries are not used to train underlying LLMs, and that AlphaSense works only with LLM providers enforcing zero data retention. The privacy policy adds that customer content is not used to train generally available models except where expressly agreed with the customer.

Who uses AlphaSense?

More than 7,000 enterprise customers, including 90% of the S&P 100, 90% of the top investment banks and 95% of the top consultancies. Typical functions are investment research, competitive and market intelligence, corporate strategy, corporate development and M&A, investor relations, and consulting.

What support is included?

Both published plans include 24/7 live help, a dedicated account manager, and virtual and in-person training. IT support, professional services and custom training programs are listed for Enterprise Intelligence only. A customer help center is also available, and support can be reached at [email protected].
