How is Estuary priced and what will it cost at our scale?
Billing has two parts: data moved at $0.50 per GB sourced, transformed and delivered, plus $100/month for each of the first six connector instances and $50/month thereafter. There are no seats and no minimums. The free tier covers 10 GB/month and two connector instances; exceeding it starts a 30-day free trial with no credit card. The published calculator example is roughly $1,000/month for 800 GB and two connectors. Enterprise contracts add volume discounts, pre-paid data commitments, private or BYOC deployment and provisioned servers.
How quickly can we get a production pipeline running?
Setup is self-serve and no-code: connect a source and destination and Estuary captures and syncs data continuously, with a documented quickstart that runs in under 10 minutes. A customer quoted on the site instrumented services, loaded a warehouse and started using the data within a week, and another describes shipping a pipeline in days rather than months. Schema discovery, automatic backfills and exactly-once delivery mean most of the operational work happens after the first pipeline, not before it.
What compliance certifications does Estuary hold and where does our data live?
Estuary states SOC 2 Type II certification with zero exceptions and HIPAA compliance, and offers public, private and bring-your-own-cloud deployments. Data is stored in your own cloud storage bucket, and private or BYOC data planes keep data inside your network or region. Encryption is TLS in transit and AES-256 at rest, with mutual TLS between internal services. Access control uses SSO, role-based access control and field-level redaction, and private networking options include AWS PrivateLink, Google Private Service Connect and SSH tunnels.
Does Estuary support AI agents and MCP?
Yes. Estuary provides an MCP integration that gives assistants context about the platform, and Agent Skills that let agents take action: drafting pipeline configuration as code, checking task health, inspecting logs and restarting connectors. The vendor states that agents cannot deploy without your approval, and that every suggested change is reviewable, auditable and reversible.
