Positioning guardrails
Best for
- Workplace and real-estate teams that need accurate, anonymous occupancy data for offices, meeting rooms, phone booths and desks
- Companies right-sizing a portfolio or trying to lower real-estate cost per occupied square foot
- Organizations with strict employee-privacy constraints: radar sensors, no cameras, no PII
- Teams that want to query occupancy data inside an AI assistant they already use, via Density's MCP server
Ideal size: 100+ employees people · Workplace/facilities team with a real-estate data owner
Not for
- Buyers who want a pure-software tool with no physical hardware to install or maintain
- Retail, logistics or industrial sites measuring customer footfall or throughput rather than workplace occupancy
- Small offices with only a handful of rooms and little real-estate spend
- Teams looking for a bundled, in-app AI analytics suite rather than a connector into their own AI environment

Bottom line
Density pairs radar-based people-counting sensors (Waffle, Open Area, Entry) with the Atlas workplace analytics platform to measure how offices, meeting rooms, phone booths and desks are actually used. Sensors are anonymous by design, self-installable and priced per unit rather than per seat, so buyers can start small. Teams use the data to right-size real estate, plan occupancy and cut cost per square foot. A vendor-built MCP server brings Density data into ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot or Gemini.
Frequently asked questions
How is Density priced?
Pricing is per sensor unit, not per seat. Waffle sensors are $229 each. Software runs $2.50 per unit/month for desks, $8 per unit/month for rooms and phone booths (billed annually), or $15 per unit/month for all spaces (billed monthly). Large volume orders are routed through [email protected].
Does Density use cameras or collect personal data?
No. Density's radar-based sensors cannot capture, store or interpret personally identifiable information, and the vendor states there are no cameras. Data is encrypted with TLS 1.2 in transit and AES-256 at rest, with OAuth SSO and 2FA available.
How long does installation and rollout take?
Density markets self-installable, powered sensors that need no ladders or batteries and stream data with under one second latency; the MCP connector is set up the day you install it. Allow roughly one to two weeks including hardware shipping and mounting.
Can we query Density data inside ChatGPT, Claude or Copilot?
Yes. Density MCP is a vendor-built connector that signs in with your Density account, syncs data locally and lets you ask questions and generate on-brand charts inside an AI environment you already use, including ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini, Cursor and VS Code.
What support is included?
Density offers email support at [email protected] plus a self-serve help center, and publishes a service level agreement and support policy. Live onboarding is offered for Density MCP. Phone and live-chat support and stated response times are not advertised.
What security certifications does Density hold?
No SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, FedRAMP, ISO 42001 or CMMC certification is claimed on Density's public privacy and trust page. That page documents encryption in transit and at rest, OAuth single sign-on, 2FA through your SSO provider, third-party vulnerability testing and redundant cloud hosting.
