Positioning guardrails

Best for

  • Teams needing round-robin and attribute-based routing for inbound sales, support or clinical intake
  • Regulated organizations that need HIPAA, SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 controls with signed BAAs
  • Developers embedding scheduling through a public API, React atoms, webhooks or self-hosting
  • Companies replacing Calendly that want a genuinely strong free tier and low per-user team pricing

Ideal size: 5–500 users people · Scale-up with sales, support or clinical ops teams, or a product team embedding scheduling

Not for

  • Buyers who want a fully managed, no-configuration tool with no admin setup at all
  • US federal programs requiring FedRAMP authorization
  • Teams that only ever need a single one-to-one booking link and no routing or workflows

Frequently asked questions

How much does Cal.com cost per user, and what is free?

The individual plan is free forever and includes unlimited event types and calendars, 100+ app integrations, email and SMS notifications, Stripe/PayPal payments and Cal Video. Teams is $12 per user per month and Organizations $28 per user per month when billed yearly, after a 14-day trial. Enterprise is custom annual pricing. Vendors list no mandatory implementation fee; a self-hosted deployment is also offered.

Is Cal.com HIPAA and SOC 2 compliant?

Yes. The security page states the company has achieved SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, GDPR, CCPA and HIPAA certifications, and publishes downloadable reports. The compliance page states the Enterprise plan includes a signed Business Associate Agreement, encrypted PHI storage, access logging and configurable US or EU hosting. HIPAA, SAML SSO and SCIM features sit on the Organizations plan and above, so confirm plan-level eligibility before rollout.

How long does it take to get to first value?

Onboarding is light: sign-up is free with no credit card, calendar connection and availability setup are self-serve, and shared team availability, round-robin pools and workflows can be configured without engineering. Most teams are taking live bookings within a day. Salesforce, HubSpot and calendar integrations are configuration rather than custom development.

Does Cal.com integrate with Salesforce, HubSpot and our calendars?

Yes. Two-way Salesforce and HubSpot sync is listed on the free and higher plans, and Cal.com syncs availability with Google Calendar, Outlook, Apple Calendar, Zoho Calendar and others. Conferencing covers Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Cal Video and 20+ other tools, with webhooks, Zapier, Make and 100+ direct integrations for the rest of the stack.

Can we embed scheduling in our own product or self-host?

Yes. Cal.com offers a public API v2 with OAuth, API-key or platform authentication, React 'atoms' scheduling components, OAuth clients, webhooks and self-hosted deployment via Docker. Platform-style managed-user endpoints are maintained for existing enterprise customers, but new Platform sign-ups are closed as of December 2025, so plan integrations around the standard API.

What support do we get, and is there an SLA?

The support page states you receive support by real-time chat or email depending on your SLA agreement. Vendor pages also point to [email protected] and the self-serve help centre. The Enterprise plan adds priority Slack and account support, dedicated onboarding and engineering support, and SLA plus uptime guarantees; specific response times are quoted per contract.
