Slite

The self-maintaining AI knowledge base that stays verified and synced with your tools

By Slite · 4.3/5 Value-Position score (estimate)

Positioning guardrails

Best for

  • Teams that need a verified, self-updating knowledge base instead of a wiki that goes stale
  • Distributed companies whose AI agents (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor) need permission-aware access to internal knowledge over MCP
  • Organizations migrating off Notion, Confluence, ClickUp, Quip or OneNote
  • Regulated teams that need SOC 2 Type II, GDPR and HIPAA commitments with EU data hosting

Ideal size: 20–500 people · Scale-up with distributed teams and at least one documentation owner

Not for

  • Teams looking for a combined project-management, ticketing or CRM system
  • Knowledge workers who require end-to-end encryption for stored content (Slite does not currently offer it)
  • Solo users or tiny teams wanting a free-forever plan; Slite is a 14-day trial then paid

AI evidence comes from the pricing page (AI search & answers, AI writing assistant, the Slite Agent, agent workflows) and the changelog (fact-checking with suggested fixes, per-feature AI credit reporting with CSV export, attributed agent edits). No customer-supplied API key is required, and Anthropic's Sonnet is named as the default model.

Bottom line

Slite is a self-maintaining knowledge base that pairs a verified docs workspace with an AI agent. The agent watches connected tools such as Slack, GitHub and Linear, detects when documentation drifts, drafts the fix and routes it through human approval. AI search answers questions with cited, permission-aware results, and the same engine is exposed over MCP to Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor. Basic is $10 and Pro $20 per user/month billed yearly; Enterprise adds SSO, audit logs and HIPAA.

Frequently asked questions

How is Slite priced?

Basic is $10 per user/month and Pro $20 per user/month, both billed yearly; Enterprise is custom. Every workspace starts with a 14-day free trial that needs no credit card. Pro includes 50 AI credits per seat each month, with top-ups available when a workspace runs out. Teams that want a free-forever tier will not find one here.

Do you train AI models on our content?

No. Slite states on its home page that your data is never used to train AI models, and its security page says customer data used for AI-powered features is processed inside Slite's own infrastructure and is not used to train external models. AI processing inherits the same access controls and privacy protections as the rest of the workspace.

Can our existing AI assistants use Slite as a knowledge source?

Yes. Slite ships an official hosted MCP server at https://api.slite.com/mcp. It authenticates over OAuth, inherits the signed-in user's permissions and exposes 40+ read and write tools, so Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or custom LangChain agents can search docs and connected sources and propose edits, with writes optionally queued for human approval. It is listed in the Claude connector directory.

What compliance commitments does Slite make?

SOC 2 Type II (audited annually), GDPR and HIPAA. HIPAA support and a Business Associate Agreement are available on the Enterprise tier. Production data is hosted on Google Cloud in the EU (St. Ghislain, Belgium), and Slite maintains a Vanta-hosted trust center with its SOC 2 report. Slite states it does not currently offer end-to-end encryption.

How long until a team sees value?

Slite is self-serve: the 14-day trial covers Basic and Pro, there is no implementation fee or seat minimum, and admin setup is largely connecting sources such as Slack, Google Drive or GitHub. Most teams are running AI search and agent-assisted doc reviews within the first couple of weeks. Larger rollouts can buy Enterprise migration and onboarding support.

Which tools does Slite connect to?

Slite connects to Slack, Google Drive, Docs, Sheets and Slides, GitHub, Linear, Notion, Asana, ClickUp, Jira, Salesforce, HubSpot, BigQuery, Figma, Loom and more, and it authenticates with Google, Okta, Azure AD and other OIDC providers. The Slite Agent watches those sources for drift, and both AI search and the agent respect the permissions each user already has.
