Bottom line
Level is a remote monitoring and management (RMM) platform for MSPs and internal IT teams across Windows, macOS and Linux. It combines device inventory, monitoring and alerting, patch management, scripting, automations and browser-based remote control, and connects to PSA, documentation and incident tools through integrations, webhooks and a public REST API. Pricing is $2 per device per month, month-to-month, with the first 10 devices free and no setup or onboarding fees.
Frequently asked questions
How much does Level cost, and when do we start paying?
The first 10 devices are free forever. Once you add an 11th device, Level charges $2 per device per month for your total device count, billed month-to-month based on your peak device count. There is no annual commitment, setup fee or onboarding fee, and all features are included on both free and paid accounts.
Does Level replace our PSA or ticketing system?
No. Level positions itself as the RMM and deliberately excludes ticketing and PSA. It integrates with PSA, documentation and incident tools such as HaloPSA, ConnectWise PSA, DeskDay, AlgaPSA, ZestMSP, ilert, Hudu and Regentra, and exposes a public REST API plus webhooks for custom workflows.
How long does implementation take and is there a setup fee?
There is no annual commitment, setup fee or onboarding fee. Agent deployment covers Windows, macOS and Linux, and Level offers a free one-hour onboarding session with an engineer to design monitors or automations. The team also helps plan migrations from another RMM, moving devices in batches.
What compliance attestations can we review?
Level maintains a SOC 2 Type II report, shared under NDA on request. Business Associate Agreements are available for HIPAA and a Data Processing Addendum for GDPR, and the company states ISO certification is in progress. SOC 2 controls, two-factor authentication and activity logging apply to every plan, including free accounts.
Can we use our own AI agent with Level?
Yes. The Level CLI (lvl) can be connected to supported coding agents such as Codex, Claude Code or Gemini, which can inspect device context, investigate alerts, run diagnostics and scripts, and create or update monitors and automations with diff and dry-run support. Actions follow the permissions of the Level user and are recorded in audit history.
Is support included, and what channels are available?
Yes. Live chat, email, phone, support meetings and the official Discord community are available to every Level customer at no extra cost. Live chat is staffed 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern, Monday through Friday, and self-serve guides are published in Level documentation.
